There's something outright repulsive about Lehikoinen's drawings here. What was watery and wispy in The Lonely Inspector zine becomes gnarly and soggy here - and the sick thing is it's supposed to. The Pernicious Kiss is about the plight of a horse-headed Romeo clacking his gums against those of his beloved. Uncomfortable and ugly in an intentional way. -EF
